Specular Warranty
We Built It to Last and We Mean It
Most warranties exist because lawyers require them. This one exists because we actually believe in what we built. The OG1 is precision machined from a solid block of 304 stainless steel. If a defect in materials or workmanship gets in the way of that, we'll repair or replace it. No runaround.
What's Covered
The Specular Lifetime Warranty covers the OG1 grinder against defects in materials and workmanship, including:
- Mechanical issues that stop the grinder from working normally
- Magnet failure caused by a defect in materials or workmanship, including seating failures in any of the three magnetic closures (top lid, mid chamber or base)
- Structural defects not caused by misuse or accidental damage
Cosmetic defects such as scratches or blemishes need to be reported when you first receive your order.
The Lifetime Warranty applies to the OG1 grinder only. Accessories like the Go Case and Go Tube aren't covered by it. If one arrives defective, damaged or incorrect, our Returns & Exchanges policy covers you for 30 days after delivery.
What's Not Covered
We'll be straight with you about the limits.
- Normal wear and tear, including surface wear and finish changes over time
- Misuse, such as grinding rocks, sand or mineral-contaminated material; grit or abrasive particles in the chamber; metal tools, wire brushes or abrasives on the blades; non-plant materials
- Care damage: the dishwasher, long soaks in water, leaving it wet after cleaning, harsh chemicals, bleach or abrasive cleaners, and surface rust on the magnet housings from not drying it fully
- Drops, impacts and other accidents
- Third-party parts, and modifications or repairs by anyone other than Specular
- The O-ring (see below)
- Lost or stolen products
Specular decides whether an issue is a covered claim based on inspection and the information you provide.
About the O-Ring
Every OG1 ships with an O-ring between the grinding chamber and the base. It softens the feel of the rotation for people who like a slightly cushioned grind, and the OG1 grinds exactly the same with or without it. Try both and use what feels right. The O-ring is a replaceable wear part, so it isn't covered by this warranty. Replacements are sold separately as a 3-pack of Replacement O-Rings.
Who's Covered
The Lifetime Warranty applies to the original purchaser only and isn't transferable. Keep your order number or proof of purchase.
Not a Defect, Just Not for You?
That's what our separate 30-day satisfaction guarantee is for. The original purchaser can return or exchange within 30 days of delivery, even when nothing is wrong, under our Returns & Exchanges policy.
How to File a Claim
Email support@shopspecular.com with:
- your order number or proof of purchase
- a clear description of the issue
- photos or video showing the defect
We respond to every claim within 5 business days. Please don't ship your grinder back before you hear from us; claims need to be reviewed and approved first. If your claim is approved, we'll send a prepaid return label. Once we receive the grinder, we'll repair or replace it at our discretion and ship it back to you at no charge.
