Made to go where you go

The OG1 is heavy on purpose, so its weight does the work on your counter. Dial is the other half of the lineup: the same 2.5-inch footprint at 6.6 ounces, light enough for a bag, a pocket or a travel kit.

  • Same magnetic, threadless closure as the OG1
  • Nothing to line up, strip or cross-thread
  • Machined aluminum with an anodized finish

Anodized, not painted

Dial is machined from 6063-T6 aluminum and finished with Type II anodizing. Anodizing is grown from the aluminum itself rather than applied on top, so it doesn't chip or peel the way paint and powder coating can. We chose 6063 over the more common 6061 because it takes a smoother, more even anodized finish.

After years of heavy use, the finish can wear through at the highest-contact edges. That's cosmetic and doesn't change how Dial grinds. Read 6061 vs 6063 aluminum for the full comparison.

Get the OG1 if it will mostly live at home. Its 1.3 lb of 304 stainless steel does more of the work for you, and it's in stock now. Get Dial if you want something light enough to carry every day. Many people will end up with both.

No. Anodizing is part of the aluminum, not a layer of paint on top, so it doesn't chip or flake the way paint or powder coating can. After years of heavy use, the finish can wear thin at the edges that get the most contact. That's cosmetic and doesn't affect the grind.

Brush out residue with a small soft brush. For a deeper clean, hand wash in warm water with a little mild dish soap, then dry every part completely before closing it, especially around the magnets. Skip the dishwasher and harsh or abrasive cleaners, which can dull the finish.

Yes. Dial will be covered by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear, including wear to the anodized finish, isn't covered. Full terms will be on our Warranty page at launch.

Not yet. We ship within the US only for now. The details are in our Shipping Policy.
